This exhibition is a collection of works from Coolum High, created in class as part of the curriculum. The POP title relates to some of the work that is Pop art, it relates to the way the exhibition was Popped together in a short period and the fact that artwork from school has popped into town. Five of the works are a direct response to the brief about trees, the final chapter this year of the Exceptional Tree Project. It’s a fabulous result that the last artists to engage in the ‘trees’ are the youngest and the future. The original works have been enlarged in the print process for the visual impact and some works have been transformed or extended as a collaboration with other artists as a form of inspiration and mentorship. The digital works from the the senior students are about finding out how to fit in the ‘human spaces’ that we create, our built environment. This exhibition shows that the spirit of creativity is abundant and positive at Coolum High.
