CAP - Coolum Art Project

CAP is a sub committee of the Coolum Residents Association [CRA] an incorporated group that acts for community. The CAP mission is to identify the opportunities, strategies and responsibilities for activating art within Coolum. CAP seeks to facilitate the creation of visual assets that are valued by community.

Currently CAP has use of the Galley, a set of exhibition cabinets in Galley Lane next to Yum Gelato.

This is how the space looked for more than a decade and half  - until CAP was given the opportunity in November 2024.

CAP proposes to develop a concept temporary exhibition trail.

The proposal is to identify and create opportunities in and around Coolum, public or private, that could make great indoor & outdoor temporary exhibition spaces and add to the trails' experience.

The trail would be able to expand or change it's shape and context via the use of a concept - ArtBox especially in an outdoor public setting.

ArtBox is a frame that houses A2 print size, is constructed from durable materials and can be easily installed and de-installed with the minimum of work. The artist/exhibitor would use this space to display work.

The possible spaces for ArtBox are many.

CAP is about context and terrain.
