Galley Lane Stairs - Glass Mosaics
The Space Invader motif was the inspiration for the series of glass tile mosaics that were applied to the stairs in Galley Lane.
This is a permanent installation started in November 2024, which is a CAP initiative with Les Kirkbride as the mosaic artist. Many of the original forms are sea creatures.
Designs came from Les, John T, and also the yr 9 Coolum Highschool students after a small workshop run by Les and Joel [art teacher]. Thanks to Mandy at Yum Gelato for supporting the idea.
